Verkada Guest Management system added to all Amboy Schools.

The Amboy school district is pleased to announce that we will begin using the Verkada Guest Management System in all of our schools. Verkada Guest is designed to strengthen the safety and security of our campus for students and staff. Knowing who is in our buildings is an essential part of keeping students and faculty safe. Verkada Guest will better allow us to screen visitors, contractors, and volunteers in our schools and provide a safer environment.

Upon entering a school building, visitors will be asked to present photo identification, such as a Driver’s License, which can be scanned or manually entered into the system. If a parent or guardian does not have a US government-issued ID, the school staff can use any form of identification and manually enter the person’s name into the system. Verkada Guest will check to ensure that registered sex offenders are not entering our school campuses without our knowledge. Verkada Guest checks the visitor’s name and date of birth with a national database of registered sex offenders. No other data from the ID is gathered or recorded, the information is deleted after the check has been completed, and no data is shared with any outside agencies.

Once entry is approved, Verkada Guest will issue a badge that identifies the visitor, the date, and the purpose of their visit. A visitor’s badge will not be necessary for those who visit our schools simply to drop off an item in the office or to pick up paperwork.

The safety of our students and staff is our highest property, and Verkada Guest allows us to quickly identify those who may present a danger to our students. We are deeply grateful for your understanding and support in enhancing the school safety protocols of our district. We appreciate your patience and cooperation in this crucial matter.
